Truly Perfect.

My Husband and I stayed here for our mini moon for 3 nights after our wedding, it had absolutely everything we needed and the welcome basket with bubbly and a congratulations card was a great personalised added touch. We never did much exploring due to sheer tiredness, instead just relaxed with the amazing views of the quarry especially from the hot tub or watching a movie from the netflix account which is provided by the owners. We were delighted we could take our dog with us as well and they even supplied a bowl and extras for her. Graeme sent us loads of information about the surrounding area, including places to eat and always responded quickly to emails. Cant wait to come back (which is actually next month for my mums birthday). This lodge is truly 5 stars.

A real little bit of heaven.

Well what can I say, the lodge is truly amazing. When we first walked in there was a real ‘Wow’ factor. Everything and I mean everything has been thought about, Games, Books DVDs, extras for the dog and a truly scrummy hamper. This really is an out of this world lodge. Thank you for letting us stay in your little bit of heaven. We will be back!

A real Christmas cracker.

We spent Christmas 2015 in a hotel and felt restricted and unable to lounge about together so this Christmas we hired this lodge and we are so glad we did. I have hired places for the holidays before and as an old hand, I took things with us such as washing up liquid, pans and even bin bags.
So with the car laden with everything we arrived in the gated community of Jackdaw Quarry Lodge and when you pull up on the gravel drive you think it looks quaint and almost alpine-like. As soon as you go into the property you go “WOW” it has an amazing balcony overlooking a beautiful clear azure blue lake. The property has everything you need and a lot more. The owners had sent us comprehensive instructions on everything from how to get there to how to work sky and the PS3 (yes it has everything). They had decorated it for us for Christmas and we felt like we were in the Alps. Very classy and the little extras like a hamper and a bottle of fizz, shampoos and soaps.
The bathrooms are amazing, the beds are so comfy and you must hire the hot tub. To sit in the hot tub and gaze at the stars is an awesome experience. We tried to book for next Christmas but it has already been taken. We would like to go back in the summer and sit on the balcony and gaze at the lake whilst drinking a glass of bubbly it would be ideal. We took our Mum who uses a wheelchair and she could get about no problem around the lounge, kitchen and her same level bedroom and bathroom.
An absolute joy and delight to be here and if you get the chance to hire this place you will not be disappointed.

Stunning property.

We began searching early 2016 to find a short break so we could all be together as a family at Christmas. We needed 3 bedrooms and for the property to be wheelchair accessible as Mum is a wheelchair user with special needs. We also wanted to take our dog with us. We came across Jackdaw quarry lodge and it seemed to tick our requirements so we booked it.
As always whenever we book anything involving Mum it was in the back of my mind all the time that maybe this wouldn’t be right or that wouldn’t be right etc. How wrong I was to worry about anything. This place is amazing.
The location is far away from towns and cities etc. with lovely views of the Cumbrian hills one side and the lodge directly outside the rear of the property. The water is blue and is a diving school so on the 27th we did see divers in the water which were fascinating to watch.
As you step into the hallway there’s a large storage cupboard a large bathroom and a bedroom all accessible for a disabled person (but equally perfect for able bodied) then the property opens out to a huge area of lounge and dining space (all beautifully decorated for Christmas with a huge tree etc) then an ample sized fully equipped kitchen. When I say fully equipped I mean it. We have been to holiday homes before and you always need to take pots, pans, extra cutlery, washing up stuff etc. Please do not pack anything there’s nothing missing in this kitchen from the scourer sponges through to knife block through to serving dishes.
Down a flight of stairs there are 2 more beautiful bedrooms, an amazing bathroom with a large rain shower and a huge deep bath and a utility room containing a washer (soap powder provided) a dryer, ironing facilities and even a dog cage, dog toys, towels and blankets for the pooch etc. We had brought our dogs stuff and took him out when we went out so didn’t need the cage etc but a nice touch for owners who do use them. The balcony covers both bedrooms and there is a hot tub there for you to enjoy.
We had a wonderful relaxed time here and wanted to rebook however it’s already fully booked for next Christmas and I’m not surprised.
Thank you to the owners for a beautiful, relaxing few days.

Five star luxury.

Just returned from spending a weekend with extended family, having rented out both Quarry Lodge and Quarry Heights.
The attention to detail in every room within each of the properties was exceptional. We also travelled with my 18-month son; on arrival travel cot had already been set up and a stairgate fitted. We felt really well taken care of.
I highly recommend these properties, whether you are looking for a romantic breakaway or a great spot for a group trip.

Amazing! Just book it!

Jackdaw Quarry Lodge is an extremely well-appointed and beautifully presented property. It has all the equipment you could possibly need. The quarry is very relaxing and peaceful and the panoramic view from the hot tub across the quarry and beyond is amazing.
The owners Graeme and Allison were really helpful and supplied lots of useful information via e-mail before our stay. On arrival, we were greeted with a welcome basket including wine, bread, fruit, biscuits, crisps, milk and butter. Such a lovely touch!
I would definitely recommend staying here and would like to thank Graeme and Allison for being so helpful throughout our stay and perfect hosts!

Excellent lodge

Wonderful lodge with lots and lots of little extras. On arrival was certainly impressed. The welcome pack was great, with all the things you need for a snack and more, including prosecco. Lots of games for the kids and books to read, if the weather was bad. We were lucky with lots of sun. The hot tub was great, and good to look out onto the quarry. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything you needed. Lots of good places to eat nearby, a tip to Kirby Lonsdale is well worth a visit, ate at Plato’s and the Sun Inn, very good food. Had a walk down to Devil’s Bridge and then back up the step to the Church, very steep and felt like at least 100. All in all a great stay.

Beautiful.

We’ve just come away from a week spent at Jackdaw Quarry Lodge. We had such a lovely week, the lodge is beautiful and Allison and Graeme have really thought of everything and made it feel very much like home. Within the information pack kindly sent to us by Graeme was a map and some information on Bay View, Bolton le Sands looking out across Morecambe Bay. We decided to visit Bay View on our first day as it sounded like a good place to take our two labradoodles for a walk and it’s only a 5-10 mins drive from the lodge. We were not quite prepared for just how lovely it is (and we have an abundance of beaches back at home in North Norfolk and Suffolk so we are not easily impressed). In fact, we loved it so much we went back almost every day. Vast open marshland at first and after a 10 minute walk across the marsh you stumble across a huge sandy beach as far as the eye can see (we never saw the tide in). Ella & Gertie loved it, they could tear around and have a splash in the water on the marshland, they had great fun. You’ll definitely want wellies and go prepared with a rain mac as we got caught out twice! There are a few parking spaces right at the entrance, we never struggled to get a space and most of the time the place was deserted, so great if you want to let your dogs off the lead safely for a run.

Superb, we will be back.

Superb accommodation, really well thought out fixtures and fittings, and everything is spotlessly clean. Availability is limited because it is booked solid so book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Money well spent. We will be back.

Wow wow wow

The lodge has it all beautifully furnished rooms well-equipped kitchen and views that take your breath away. We had a great time and covered a few miles with the lovely canal walks. The only thing wrong with our stay has to be only booking the lodge for 4 nights wished it had been longer. So I have sorted that problem and will be returning in December for 7 nights.
The lodge was immaculate and the owners were extremely helpful and more than happy to assist if required.
